FAQ

Questions: 

1.  Do you have to go to church at The Bridge Community Church to be able to take lessons at Brown’s Karate Studio / Empower Kickboxing?    No – anyone is welcome!

2.  Can my kids wear their socks during class?  Yes if they want to.

3.  How do you promote students?  Is there an extra testing fee?  I’m old school…your child’s promotion is based on their Attendance in Class.  Every time your student gets promoted based on their attendance in class, it will cost you $10 for their new Belt and their Rank Certification.

4.  What age do you start children?  From our teaching experience, we recommend Children ages 6 and up  to participate in the trial lessons.  We start them in with the other students so they have to be mature enough to work in a group setting.

5.  What should my child wear to their first class?  Your child should wear a t-shirt and some type of sweat pants.  Shorts are inappropriate for a martial arts class.

6.  What other costs are involved in a martial arts class?  Besides your monthly tuition, students will need to purchase their protective sparring equipment which includes headgear, foot pads and hand pads.
